Those of us who use Cognitive therapies start with the premise that our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all connected.  From this basic standpoint we work with the individual to create change and move towards overcoming difficulties, reaching goals, breaking habits or finding solutions to problems by utilising one or all of these gateways.

We might identify unhelpful or inaccurate thinking.  Find new ways of doing something to alter problematic behaviour.  Or reframe current feeling associated with a problem.

To do this work we need to collaborate.  I will work with you to identify what’s going wrong or holding you back.

How Cognitive Therapies Help

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is particularly helpful because we draw from a range of theories including:

  • Positive psychology
  • Neuroscience
  • Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP)

We also use a range of techniques including:

  • Tapping (EFT)
  • Parts
  • Time Line
  • Future Pacing
  • Wordweaving

So, you can see already that there are many options opening up and this is before we take you as an individual into account.  There is no one size fits all approach. 

One more thing to be aware of, you will probably learn things in our sessions that will help you in other ways you didn’t even think of.  It could be having a more open mind to what is happening around you, becoming aware of skills you didn’t know you had or how much easier life is without that problem you discussed with me in the first place.
